Ancient History
Three Middle Eastern civilizations stood out regarding designs and constructions during ancient civilizations: the Mesoptomians, Egyptians, and the Nubians. The main focus throughout his era was adding details to designs. Whether it was the interior or exterior of a building/sculpture or even furniture reflecting their rich cultural histories. While they were different civilizations there were many similarities when it came to design and construction and on top of that these civilizations would influence each other. The exchange of ideas contributed to the evolution of architectural and artistic styles across the region.
Amenhotep lll was the king of Egypt for 40 years during its golden Age of art and architecture. Amenhotep is responsible for the construction of many king colossal statues, and various temples like the Temple of Soleb Nubia, the Temple of Karnak, etc. Throughout his work, he emphasizes his relationships with gods and honors them through architectural designs. His work was greatly rewarded and was given the rare honour of having his temple built behind the Pharaoh.
